Last Thursday evening, the 40th Gutenberg Gala was held at the Salle de Bal du Marché Bonsecours in Montreal. The cocktail reception and evening awards ceremony for the prestigious Gutenberg trophies were held in a wonderful reunion atmosphere.
The Gutenberg Gala is the premier event of the printing industry. It highlights the talent, creativity, and expertise of its artisans.
“Yes, it's a competition because there's a jury, but the Gala Gutenberg is more than that. It's been our industry's annual event for 40 years. It's an evening where we can meet suppliers, colleagues and competitors alike. It's also a place where you can exchange ideas, compare your realities with those of others, check out the state of the market, see what's being done elsewhere. It's not about the number of nominations or the number of awards you win. The important thing is to be present, to participate. To be part of this industry, to make yourself known. Quebec is full of motivated entrepreneurs doing extraordinary things, and that's no different in our industry,” explains Éric Lamontagne, President of the 40th Gutenberg.
“The Committee worked very hard to prepare this 40th Gutenberg, and was privileged to have the support of many partners, including ICP Canada, our Diamond partner as well as Canon, Konica Minolta, Komcan Komori, Ricoh and Rolland, along with several industry partners,” adds Mr. Lamontagne.
« Pour le décor de la soirée, nous tenions à mettre de l’avant l’économie circulaire avec des items réutilisables et recyclables. Développer un concept en lien avec le développement durable a été à la base de toutes les pièces qui ont enjolivé la soirée. Ainsi, les heureux participants étaient invités à laisser cocardes, billets et menus dans des boites de récupération à leur départ. Les cartons récoltés seront retournés à l’usine de Rolland, une filiale de Sustana, pour boucler la boucle et donner une seconde vie aux matières récupérées. J’en profite pour remercier les 20 entreprises qui ont collaboré à la réalisation des pièces. Un immense merci ! » explique Hélène Pageau, de l’ICI et membre du Comité organisateur.
« Cette soirée est la vôtre, elle a lieux pour vous et elle vise à souligner l’excellence, le dévouement, la persévérance, l’initiative, l’ingéniosité dont certains ont fait preuve. Il s’agit de qualités que vous possédé tous. Continuez de participer et de vous impliquer », conclut Éric Lamontagne, président du Gutenberg 2022.
